Net Zero 2050 & Carbon Reduction Plan

 Femman Care Services Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. We will measure our emissions, prioritise real reductions across our operations and service delivery, and only use credible offsetting for residual emissions that cannot reasonably be eliminated. 

Net Zero means we will:

• Measure our carbon footprint
   
• Reduce emissions first (our priority)
   
• Offset only what cannot reasonably be eliminated, using credible verified schemes

We will work toward Net Zero across:

• Scope 1 (Direct): Fuel use from company-controlled vehicles (where applicable), gas heating (where applicable)
   
• Scope 2 (Energy): Purchased electricity for office operations
   
• Scope 3 (Indirect – key sources): Staff travel to service users/meetings, commuting (where data is available), waste disposal, water use, purchased goods/services (PPE, uniforms, paper, IT)

 Baseline year: 2026 (first full year of structured data capture)
Reporting boundary: UK operations – office activities and care delivery travel
Method: Annual footprint using UK Government GHG conversion factors (CO₂e)

• By 2030: Year-on-year emissions reduction from baseline through lower mileage per care hour, increased digital working, and improved office energy efficiency
   
• By 2040: Deeper reductions through low-emission travel choices and stronger supplier sustainability
   
• By 2050: Net Zero across Scope 1, 2 and relevant Scope 3, with only residual emissions offset using verified schemes

Travel & transport

• Route planning and visit clustering to reduce mileage
   
• Remote meetings where appropriate
   
• Encourage low-emission travel options where practical
   

Energy

• LED lighting, switch-off culture
   
• Energy-efficient IT and appliances
   
• Move toward greener electricity tariffs where feasible
   

Waste & materials

• Reduce paper and printing
   
• Recycle where facilities exist
   
• Better stock control to reduce waste
   
• Prefer suppliers with reduced packaging where practical
   

People & culture

• Sustainability awareness in induction and annual refreshers
   
• Appoint an internal lead to coordinate data and improvements
